Day 10 - Dundrum to Tyrella Beach
Length: 11.2km, flat Time: 2hrs 45min 19th August 2023 Dundrum to Tyrella Beach The intention was to finish the walk to Downpatrick but we started late so we just walked to Tyrella Beach. Tyrella isn't on the route but is a handy place with a supervised car park. We parked in the main car park in Dundrum and took the path along by the river bed. This provided us with lush green scenery and beautiful views of the Dundrum bay area. We then had a short walk on the A2 road; which had a few cars; before we detoured to minor roads into Ballykinler. The walk into Ballykinler was quiet with a few people about and from there it was a short ramble to Tyrella Beach. From this part of the walk we got good views of the Mournes from a different viewpoint than usual. After the Dundrum river path the remaining of the walk was all on roads.
